It is 98% wool and 2% elastic, with substance but very malleable and with lovely body in the drape. Though it is a woven, this fabric behaves very much like a ponte knit, making it a great option for both tailored and drapey garments. It has about 20% stretch in the width and is stable in the length with spectacular recovery.
