Lippe-Detmold, Principality. A War Honour Cross for Heroic Deeds, c. 1935 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac 16 (when) shrapnel struck him(Kriegsehrenkreuz fr heldenmtige Tat). Instituted 8 December 1914 by Prince Leopold IV. (1914 1918 issue). Constructed of gilded silver, consisting of a slightly vaulted Cross Patte, the obverse with pebbled arms, bearing a central raised Lippe rose surrounded by a circular laurel leaf wreath, flanked by an inscription of FR HELDENMTIGE TAT (FOR HEROIC DEEDS), topped by a monogram of Prince Leopold IV, situated above a date of 1914, the reverse with a
