Spain, Facist State. A War Cross, C.1940 Auction the suspension loop marked “K”(Cruz de Guerra). Instituted in 1938. Type I (1938 1942). Centrepiece insignia in bronze gilt with red, white and blue enamels, the insignia centering a silver gilt wreath with cross and backed by crossed swords, the four arms of the cross bearing the Franco crown, two facing lions and a castle, mounted to a silver eight pointed star base, each star point with five pairs of faceted rays, unmarked, measuring 62. 8 mm (w) x 62. 8 mm (h), vertical
