A 97Th Regiment, The Algonquin Rifles Helmet Plate, C.1904 Archive for being absent without leaveIn silvered bronze and black enamels, unmarked, voided, measuring 59. 7 mm (w) x 75. 8 mm (h), both lugs intact, loss evident in the black enamels on the centrepiece to the left of the moose's head and inside the upper loop of the "S" on "RIFLES", contact marks, residue present from cleaning, near very fine. Footnote: The Algonquin Regiment originated on July 1, 1900 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario as the 97th Regiment of Rifles. Sub units were located
