These were originally used as daybeds by the wealthy merchant classes in Rajasthan particularly the Shekhawati area. The majority are made from roheda wood which is a variety of Acacia which is the state tree of Rajasthan. This particular takhat has beautifully turned legs and wonderfully patinaed roheda planks making up the surface. An old name is
