Dark Blue Yaobian Porcelain Flower Vase Buddha Statues Dimensions: W41 x D16 xThis beautifully rich & glossy dark blue flambe vase is a Chinese reproduction piece made in Jingdezhen in the traditional way by hand. Yaobian translates to 'transmutation' and refers to the variegated glaze effect which occurs as the glaze changes colour during the kiln firing process. Blue flambe was first developed in the 11th century and is created by mixing iron & copper. Flambe glazes were notoriously difficult and unpredictable to work with
