Dolphin Garden Fountain by Wheatley Pottery cats It shows a cluster ofThis piece of gardenware was made at the Cambridge Wheatley Pottery around 1930. The fountain is in the form of a dolphin rising from the water and it measures 12 1 2" tall by 6 1 2" diameter. Covered in a terra cotta finish there was subtle splashes of colored slip applied, accenting the rock at the base, its scales and its lips. Hand incised inside the base is " 7 10 31 #374 ". A line drawing is shown in a catalog from 1928.
