This piece is mounted on a sturdy iron stand. Chariot panels originate mostly from Tamil Nadu in South India. These chariots, locally called ter or Ratha Yatra are decorated with carved teak sacred scenes and images of deities. These sculptures are the finest wooden sculptures found in Tamil Nadu. The chariots are enormous temples on wheels that
