Map was engraved by Samuel Hill and published by Thomas & Andrews, Boston, 1796. The map features topographical features of Virginia, along with naming its major towns, including Shepherdstown and Winchester. Jedidiah Morse (1761 1826) was a famed geographer considered the Father of American Geography. His geographical writings and research dominated the field
