Painted Choksar Prayer Table from Mongolia - 19th Century Style - Teapot 13 x 13 x 8This is a beautiful specimen of an antique 19th century Painted Choksar Prayer Table from Mongolia. It features delicate floral artwork painted in two central frames, surrounded by a repeating pattern along the edges of the piece. Choksars (as with antique Mongolian and Tibetan furniture in general) are becoming increasingly rare. Choksars were used as prayer tables by monks for reading scrolls and books. A yak butter lamp would be burnt regularly
