Iron Bound Rosewood Chest From Kutch - 18th Century Origin - Laos As Algernon died in 1835This is an excellent example of a Kutchi chest from The Rann of Kutch on the west coast of India. Bound with brass and made from solid rosewood, it dates from the 18th century. The mix of styles found on this chest reflects the many influences exerted on India in the 17th, 18th & 19th centuries.
