Blue Herringbone Carved Planter tumbler then decorated with a yellowThis planter was thrown on the pottery wheel and the blue slip was added by hand. When it was dry enough to handle, the herringbone design was carefully carved into the soft clay using the sgraffito technique. The planter was then fired in the kiln at 2170F. The clay is a warm ivory colored ceramic stoneware. The blue slip was created from recycled colored clay and the clear glaze gives this planter a glossy finish. H: 3. 5" W: 6. 5" D: 6. 5"
