Aechmea rubrolilacina CYCAD The remainder of the leafA fairly new species from Espirito Santo, Brazil that blurs the distinction between Aechmea and Portea. The kind of plant taxonomists dont like because it isnt really a snug fit in either genus. This handsome plant is a rather large grower with fairly wide, heavily armed leaves and an interesting inflorescence of mostly red branches and bracts, green ovaries and lilac petals.
